Thank you all...Here is the breakdown of Ladies Night to be held on March 14th, 2009 from 6:00-10:00pm at the LaQuinta Inn. Sunset ends about 6:15pm so we should be good for time.
MEAL:Based on last weeks club's order of business for Ladies Night, the majority chose the following two entree menu items:
- Chicken Breast Supreme (Creamy White Wine Mushroom Sauce) - which will come with Rice Pilaf
- Bell Pepper Beef - which will come with Red Potatoes
1. A choice of one of the main entree items above.
2. A tossed green salad with choice of Italian or Ranch dressing, vegetables.
3. For dessert: Cheesecake with Strawberry Sauce.
4. Coffee / Hot Tea / Ice Water - is included.
I asked her about drinks/cocktails if such is available which is not included in the meal. She said that would be no problem. So; if anyone would like a beer, cocktail or glass of wine before or during dinner, just let our server know. Or, one can walk through the double-french doors, across the other, empty dining room to the left of where the bar is. Each person will need to pay for such drinks separately.
ROOM ARRANGEMENT:
I have talked to and met with Jill Hassings of LaQuinta Inn to submit the paper-work and reservation info. Since we're figuring
on approximately 24-30 people, she went ahead and made a nice jesture by reserving the "Private" room for our group at no
extra cost. It is cozy and nice. She will make sure there is a standing podium for us to use so we won't need to bring our own.
The podium will be against the east wall and since the room isn't "that" large; no microphone is needed. She mentioned that the
room will be arranged with 4 or 5 round tables that can sit 8 each around the room. The tables will have nice, white table cloths
with burgundy color napkins. Also; a mirror & candle as a centerpiece on each.
PROCEDURE:
The LaQuinta Hotel is off of I-5 N/S. Take the Portland Ave Exit going north. Take a left at E. 27th St. then a right into the parking lot.
Go through the front, main entrance, past the check-in desk staying to your left. The private room where we'll be meeting at is
through the double-doors to the right a short-ways down the hall. The room will be on your right.
I'm trying to remember from last year so if Mr. Sexton or Mr. Reeves can verify, I'm assuming once everyone has arrived to the meeting room and get situated with the ladies/guests, the server (one assigned to our group) will take/verify everyone's orders. After the food order has been taken and verified for everyone, Mr. Sexton will start with an open prayer/blessing. After that, anyone may order a cocktail/wine if so desired either through the server or on your own. Then I'm assuming the salads will be served then the meal followed up with the dessert. Coffe/Tea/Water will also be available.
Once the meal has been served and everyone has eaten, I believe then our club will begin with Vocal Exercises, Topicsmaster, Toastmaster then finally the Speakers, etc.
PAYMENT:
Per club business, the dues are $5 for each club meeting or $50 total (5x10 meetings). The Ladies Night meal comes to about
$23/each which includes tax and gratuity/service. Please make club payments to Mr. Mike Nelte, our wonderful (and cute)
secretary <<wink-wink>> ;-). At the conclusion of Ladies Night; Mrs. Eloise Johnson will make out a single check to pay for
everything (minus individual cocktail drinks).
How well do the customs and traditions of Christmas match the biblical account of Christ's birth? An objective look shows that many traditions supposedly rooted in the Bible don't match the biblical account.
